Traditional Stampin’ Up! Customers enjoy making cards with beautiful paper, stamps and . It is only natural that we would make cards using die cuts. Let's take that concept one step further and actually make the card out of die cuts. embellishments. This addition of Saturday with Sizzix will use the Bigz XL – Pennant die (PN 113483) to create a card. It is very similar to the criss-cross card shown earlier in the year. This one is so much easier to make that it needed to be shared with you.
To create this card you will need the following.
- Big Shot Die-Cut Machine
- Bigz XL – Pennant Die (PN 113483)
- Chocolate Chip Card Stock (PN 102128)
- Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper (PN 112469)
- Pink Pirouette Card Stock (PN 111351)
- Punch Three (Hostess Stamp Set, PN 111674)
- Totally Tabs Stamp Set (PN 109473)
- Round Tab Punch (PN 108340)
To begin a 5" x 11-1/2" piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock (PN 102128) and Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper (PN 112469) was run through the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine using the Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper (PN 112469). The photo below details the sandwich set-up for running through the Die-Cutting Machine.
The resulting die cuts are shown below.
The sides of the large Chocolate Chip Card Stock and Holiday Treasures DS Paper were folded over along the perforated lines adjacent to the straight side of the pennant. A 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock was cut and the 2 large pennant were attached as shown below.
The back of the card will look like this.
The card was flipped over and the pennants were measured and trimmed. Adhesive was then applied to the flap on the inside as shown below.
When the two sides are folded over, the resulting card looks like this.
The insert for the card was created using a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Pink Pirouette Card Stock (PN 111351) for the base, Total Tabs Stamp Set (PN 109473), Chocolate Chip Ink, The Round Tab Punch (PN 108340) and the remaining small pennants as well as a small scrap of Pirouette Card Stock (PN 111351) for the tab. The final card insert is shown below.
The insert was flipped over and inserted into the criss-cross pennant card. The final card was embellished with left over pieces from the original die cut. The base scallop is the opposite side of the Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper used for the front of the card. The second scallop was punched from a scrap piece of Pirouette Card Stock. Finally a piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock was stamped with Vary Vanilla Craft Ink & the "A Merry Christmas" from the Punch Three (Hostess Stamp Set, PN 111674). The image was then punched with the Scallop Square Punch (PN 112081) to create the final card shown below.
