In the middle of creating my families Christmas Card this year, I realized that it needed something. As I looked through my Stampin' Up! supplies for the perfect idea, the silver embossing powder came to mind. Don't you just love those A-Ha! moments? After pulling out my tub of heat embossing supplies, the large silver heat embossed tree was added. If you have never heat embossed, this is an easy and quick tutorial to show you how to heat emboss.
To make this card you will need the following supplies.
Stamp Set
- PN 101223, Lovely as a Tree
Paper
- PN 111352, Baja Breeze 8-1/2" x 11" Card Stock
- PN 102599, Glossy White 8-1/2" x 11" Card Stock
- PN 100712, Brushed Silver 8-1/2" x 11" Card Stock
Ink
- PN 111844, Baja Breeze ink refill
- PN 111840, Pacific Point ink refill
- PN 101324, Orchid Opulence ink refill
- PN 111837, Pacific Point Stampin' Ink Pad

Embossing Powder
- PN 109131, Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder
Tools
- PN 102395, Brayer Handle with Rubber Attachment
- PN 100005, Heat Tool
- PN 103083, Embossing Buddy
- PN 102197, Powder Pals
The baby wipe sky technique was used to create the graduated sky background. To create the sky you will need the items in blue listed above and you will need to follow the detailed instructions in this link (in other words... please click here for tutorial).
The trees were stamped using the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set and the Pacific Point Stampin' Ink Pad. Two - 3/8" strips of brushed silver card stock were used to frame the trees.
To heat emboss, the tools shown below are needed. These tools are also listed above in black.
To heat emboss the tree, first rub the area with the embossing buddy.
Ink the desired stamp with VersaMark Ink and stamp the large tree.
Sprinkle the stamped area with the embossing powder, then tap the excess powder off the card stock into the powder pal. The excess powder can be placed back in the jar later.
Using the heat Tool, heat the embossing powder until it melts. When the powder melts it will turn a slightly different color.
The final heat embossed image is shown below.
I hope you enjoyed this heat embossing tutorial.
