Decor Elements - Monkeys have Invaded my Bathroom!

Monkeys are well loved in our house, and not just because I've nicknamed my littlest one "Monkey".  We love them all from Curious George to Jack (Pirates of the Caribbean).  There was no question that when these monkeys appeared in the Decor Elements 2010 Catalog that they would adorn at least one wall in my house!

What I did not expect when I was putting these cute little monkeys on my bathroom wall was the help from my biggest monkey!

He did a great job!

Decor Elements Hostess Set

When I saw this decor elements hostess set advertised in the decor elements catalog, I had to have it for my very own.

This set is available in black, chocolate as well as white in English, French & Spanish.

For my kitchen, I selected English language and White lettering.

These elements were extremely easy to apply.  I simply pealed back the the top layer.

Apply element to the desired surface.

Rub the Surface Decor Element applicator (PN 114285).  Be careful to rub the entire element evenly and don't miss the corners.

Carefully peal back the wax paper to transfer the element on to the surface.

My top 10 Ideas for Stampin' Up! Decor Elements!

1. Add a Décor Element under a glass table to add an elegant pattern or accent. Wouldn’t this look amazing on a glass outdoor table?!
2. Discretely add Décor Elements on walls and mirrors in your living room or bedroom.
3. Break up a large living space by marking the transition with these décor elements (large Lollipop Flower (PN 114113 Chocolate or PN 114075 White) or a Large long-stem silhouette (PN 114124 – Chocolate or PN 114123 – White)).
4. Transition your favorite Décor Element from your wall onto your kitchen backsplash. How about the Cabinets & Doors instead - Why not? If your kitchen is like mine, Décor Elements would be a wonderful accent to your cabinet doors. Just remember to slice the decal wherever there is an opening. No one wants cabinets or drawers that are taped shut!
5. Want to Spruce up your bathroom? Decorate your shower walls with Manhattan Flower (PN 114115 – Chocolate or PN 114070 - Kraft) and Flourishes Décor Elements (PN 114136 – Chocolate or PN 114135 – Kraft). Tip: Remember to apply to a smooth surface, Décor Elements will not adhere well to the grout between a tiled surface.

Removing Decor Elements

To remove Décor Elements, simply peel up an edge and slowly peel straight back, not up.  Below are a few tips for removal.

1. Remember to take your time. Do NOT Rush.
2. If any adhesive remains, use Stampin’ Up! Adhesive Remover (PN 103684, $1.95) to rub it off.
3. Heating the decal with a heating tool or hair dryer to soften the decal before slowly & gently peeling the decal from the wall.

Additional Décor Elements – Tips & Tricks

- Ensure that the paint is properly cured if applying to a newly paint surface or wall. This may take at least 5 days.

- Apply Décor Elements to Smooth Surfaces Only, Do not apply to the following: Bricks, Oil Based Finishes, Texture Surfaces or Uneven Surfaces

- Use the Backing Sheet marked with Grid-lines to help PERFECTLY align your image.

- Do not touch the sticky side of the image, and make sure the sticky side of the image does not fold in on itself.

- You can remove the image once, but it cannot be reapplied after you have removed it from the surface.

- The decal can be difficult to apply when it is too cold or too hot.  It is best to apply when it is around room temperature.
